Google’s June Pixel update rolls out with Android 17

Google has started rolling out its June Pixel software update, bringing Android 17 to all supported Pixel devices running Android 16. The rollout begins now for eligible models and moves in phases over the next week, with a long list of fixes spanning charging
The update finally lands—and for a lot of Pixel owners, it comes with the kind of relief that feels quiet but immediate: less freezing, fewer crashes, and fewer moments where the phone just stops cooperating.
Google has started rolling out the June Pixel software update (the monthly Pixel update) to all eligible devices. The company says the rollout is beginning now and will progress over the next week in phases, which means some users may not see the update available right away.
This June patch comes alongside a bigger software step: Android 17. Google’s announcement states that “all supported Pixel devices running Android 16 will receive the Android 17 software update.” The update is targeted at models including Pixel 6 and above. with specific coverage listed for Pixel 6 series. Pixel 6a. Pixel 7 series. Pixel 7a. Pixel 8 series. Pixel 8a. Pixel 9 series. Pixel 9a. Pixel 10 series. Pixel 10a. Pixel Tablet. and Pixel Fold.
For each model, the Android 17 software version is listed as CP2A.260605.012 for the Global set of devices. The same version appears for Pixel 6. Pixel 6 Pro. Pixel 6a. Pixel 7. Pixel 7 Pro. The changelog reads like a long checklist of “it shouldn’t do that”—with fixes distributed across nearly every part of the phone’s day-to-day behavior.
In Apps, Google includes a fix for a system issue causing certain background processes to crash unexpectedly. It also addresses an issue where the Backup settings entry could appear in search results but fail to open when selected under certain conditions.
Audio updates focus on Bluetooth: the patch fixes a problem that could cause system instability and performance delays when using Bluetooth audio devices.
Charging is also covered. Google says it fixes slow wireless charging speeds when the battery level is between 75% and 80% in certain conditions. It also fixes a problem where wireless and wired charging drivers might fail to initialize correctly during device startup in certain conditions.
Camera fixes include multiple stability improvements. Google lists a fix for a camera stability issue that could crash the system in certain conditions. It also resolves a camera app freeze when changing zoom levels while recording video. In addition, the camera service occasionally crashing is addressed, along with the knock-on effect on overall system stability.
Display and graphics changes include fixes for a white flickering dot appearing at the top of the screen in certain conditions. Google also notes fixes for display or graphical errors on certain device models during standard operation. and a fix for the device freezing and becoming unresponsive when connecting to an external display in certain conditions.
For Face Unlock, the patch includes a fix for an issue that could cause the device to hang or crash when attempting to use face unlock in certain conditions.
Under Framework. Google adds fixes that cover app crashes and system behavior—such as a camera stability issue that could cause an app to crash unexpectedly. and a problem where location services could crash and restart unexpectedly. The update also targets system memory leaks and performance issues that could leave devices unresponsive or crashing. Other items include fixes for the keyboard area becoming unresponsive and displaying incorrectly after unlocking. a system crash when rotating the screen in certain conditions. and a text input box in a notification bubble unexpectedly disappearing after rotating the device. Google also lists improvements intended to improve battery life and performance in certain conditions.
Location and GPS receive attention as well. Google’s patch fixes an issue affecting GPS location accuracy and measurement reliability during voice calls on certain network configurations.
System-level fixes cover stability during regular use and device boot. Google says it fixes a stability issue that could cause the device to unexpectedly restart during normal operation. and it addresses a problem where system applications could crash during the device boot process in certain conditions. The update also covers a fix for crashes that could result in a black screen in certain conditions.
There’s also a SIM and carrier angle. Google lists a fix for an issue that prevented apps from correctly managing SIM card subscriptions and carrier settings in certain conditions.
Telephony gets fixes for connectivity problems. including a fix for issues that could prevent certain devices from connecting to mobile networks or cause unexpected service interruptions in certain conditions. Google adds general improvements for network connection stability and performance in certain conditions.
Touch is covered too: the update fixes an issue that could cause vibrations to stop working in certain conditions.
Then there’s the user interface—particularly the parts of Pixel software that users interact with constantly. Google lists a crash fix for the home screen launcher under certain conditions. It also addresses a system crash when a scrolling screenshot was cancelled immediately after being started. Additional items include a launcher crash when using AI icons in certain conditions. and another fix for the Pixel Launcher crashing during certain system operations.
More UI stability work follows. Google says it fixes the status bar and quick settings occasionally disappearing or becoming inaccessible in certain conditions. It also addresses system user interface crashes involving notifications and the lock screen in certain conditions. and fixes for home screen crashes when an external display connection is made. Media controls invisibility on the lock screen is included as well, specifically when multiple media apps were active.
Notification behavior also gets tuned: the patch includes a fix for the notification footer becoming stuck over the notification shade or appearing cut off on the lock screen in certain conditions. Google lists a fix for the screen freezing that could prevent users from returning to the home screen or switching apps in certain conditions. It also addresses a problem where the taskbar could not be dismissed during certain user interactions.
Seen together, the patch list makes one thing clear: this isn’t just a feature update. It’s a cleanup across core reliability areas—charging behavior. camera stability. Bluetooth audio performance. GPS reliability during voice calls. and the Pixel Launcher and user interface crashes that can turn routine actions into sudden dead ends.
For now, Google is rolling the update out in phases over the next week. If your device is eligible and currently on Android 16, it should eventually receive the Android 17 update tied to this June release.
