Google Maps has become an indispensable part of our commute, and countless mobile phone users rely on it frequently. Among the many nifty features it offers, Google Maps lets you save places of importance or interest, such as the ones you’d like to visit, and you can even compile these into a list. These saved places are cataloged on Google Maps’ You tab, and also show up in the actual map view when you’re scanning the nearby area.
If you don’t want your saves crowding up the map, you can also hide them, but the option currently requires you to hide them per list. To make the process a bit easier, Google is now testing an option to hide all your saved places from the map view at once.

In version 26.33.00.961351034 of Google Maps, we’ve spotted references to a work-in-progress functionality that lets you view all your saved places in a single list. The new “All saved places” option sits on top of your lists in Google Maps and also gets its own dedicated “Hide on your map” option, which appears when you tap the three-dot button next to it.
When you tap the option, you will see a dialog confirming whether you want to take that step, while also telling you that you can unhide each list individually. After tapping the “Hide on your map” button on the dialog, you will receive a confirmation in the form of a toast message, telling you that the action has been implemented.
If you want to unhide all saved places at once, you can also do that with the “Show on your map” option from the All saved places menu.
In addition to this option for better control over visibility of saved places, Google is also experimenting with deeper Ask Maps implementation for lists. Currently, if you wish to inquire about a particular list, you must specify its name in that particular instance of Ask Maps. That can be a bit annoying and might involve extra steps to get the name right. To fix this, Google is experimenting with an Ask button right within lists, so you can ask questions specific to that list.
Both of these features are currently in testing, and we can’t comment on when Google plans to bring them to users. We’ll make sure to let you know once Google makes any moves in this direction.
