Harrison Bader will not be paid while the San Fransico Giants investigate a crash he was involved in last weekend.
Bader had already been out of the lineup since late May due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. However, the Giants announced on Tuesday that the veteran outfielder had sustained additional injuries to the same foot when he crashed while driving a scooter.
In a new statement Friday, Giants president Buster Posey said that an investigation into the situation is ongoing but Bader’s payments will be suspended “until he is able to resume performing services for the Club.”
Neither the Giants nor Bader himself has revealed the nature of the new injury, including whether or not he would be able to return this season.
Bader, 32, has appeared in just 30 games for the Giants this season, hitting .170/.198/.358 with a .557 OPS and five home runs.
He signed a two-year, $20.5-million contract as a free agent last off-season after spending 2025 with the Phillies.
