Giants’ John Harbaugh reveals timeline to ramp Malik Nabers up in return from injury

The New York Giants have a different feel about them this season, and a lot of that has to do with John Harbaugh being in the building as the new head coach. Harbaugh is a proven winner and had a long, successful tenure as the coach of the Baltimore Ravens, which ended at the end of last season.

The Giants have a ton of talent returning on defense from what was already one of the best defensive lines in football. Now, they have added Arvell Reese to the formula. On the offensive side of the ball, all eyes are on star wide receiver Malik Nabers and his return from a torn ACL that he suffered last season.

After initial reports that Nabers might not be able to return until midseason, it now appears as if the Giants are trying to get him ready to play in Week 1. On Wednesday, Harbaugh revealed the next step that Nabers is getting ready to take next week, via Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

“Harbaugh said Nabers is ‘exactly where he’s been,” Duggan reported on X, formerly Twitter. “Said the plan is to ramp him up into team periods soon, ‘maybe next week.’”

During his young career, Nabers has already emerged as one of the best young wide receivers in all of football. As a rookie, he caught 109 balls for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns despite playing just 15 games. Last season, he was on another excellent pace before the injury, catching 18 balls for 271 yards and two touchdowns in four games.

This will be Nabers’ first full season working with Jaxson Dart, who replaced Russell Wilson as the starter in the Big Apple early last season. New York is hoping that Dart is its quarterback of the future and that he and Nabers form one of the best duos in all of football.

Of course, when Nabers does get back on the field, everyone will be watching how he is moving around. If he is back to 100%, this Giants offense will be very hard to stop in 2026.
