Just over a week after Georgina Rodríguez and Cristiano Ronaldo tied the knot, the newlyweds have reportedly taken another major step for their family.
According to reports in the Portuguese press, Georgina has adopted Cristiano’s three eldest children, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. and twins Eva María and Mateo, formally recognizing a family bond that has existed for years.
The reported move comes shortly after the couple said “I do” on August 11, marking a new chapter after a decade together.
A new chapter after their intimate wedding:
Georgina and Cristiano surprised fans when they married in an intimate ceremony at their family home in Portugal. The celebration reportedly took place inside their sprawling residence in Quinta da Marinha in Cascais, with their children playing an important role in the private occasion.
The date carried special significance for the couple, coming exactly one year after their engagement and roughly a decade after the beginning of their love story.
Their romance first became public in 2016, when ¡HOLA! published the first photos of the pair during a trip to Disneyland Paris with friends. At the time, Georgina was working at a Gucci store in Madrid, while Cristiano was one of Real Madrid’s biggest stars.
Ten years later, their lives look dramatically different. Georgina has built an international profile of her own, launching business ventures, starring in her own reality series and amassing a social media following of nearly 80 million. But one role has remained particularly important to her, motherhood.
Georgina reportedly adopts Cristiano’s three eldest children:
According to Portuguese media, Georgina has now adopted Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., Eva María and Mateo. Cristiano Jr., the soccer star’s eldest child, was born in 2010. Cristiano later welcomed twins Eva María and Mateo in June 2017.
Later that year, Georgina became a biological mother for the first time when she and Cristiano welcomed their daughter Alana Martina.
The couple expanded their family again in 2022 with the birth of Bella Esmeralda. Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, tragically died during childbirth, a devastating loss the couple publicly shared at the time. Georgina has since described herself on social media as the mother of “six blessings.”
Throughout her relationship with Cristiano, Georgina has consistently treated his three older children as her own and has spoken about the close family they have created together.
The reported adoption now gives legal recognition to that relationship, making Georgina the legal mother of Cristiano’s three eldest children as well.
A private legal process:
The couple reportedly chose to handle the adoption process with the same discretion that surrounded their wedding.
Portuguese reports have described the proceedings as “secret adoptions,” with Georgina and Cristiano reportedly completing the necessary paperwork away from the public eye.
While the process may have been a legal formality for a family that has already lived as one for years, it carries important legal consequences by formally establishing Georgina’s parental rights regarding Cristiano Jr., Eva María and Mateo.
For Georgina, the reported decision marks another major milestone in a relationship that has transformed dramatically since that first public glimpse of the couple in 2016. Following their marriage, the family bond she has long celebrated publicly is now reportedly reflected on paper as well.
