Arsenal have signed Lionesses midfielder Georgia Stanway following her exit from Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old’s contract at Bayern expired at the end of last season after spending four years at the German club. Stanway previously spent seven years at Manchester City in the Women’s Super League, where she made 186 appearances for the club and scored 67 goals. Wait, I thought Stanway was already at Arsenal like years ago? Maybe I’m mixing her up with another midfielder. If she was at City 7 years though… does that mean she came back to the UK after? Not sure.
This headline is kinda confusing, it makes it sound like she “joined” because Bayern kicked her out or something, but then it says her contract expired. Either way, Arsenal must be stacking up. I didn’t realize she won the Euros twice either, 2025?? are we sure about that year? Anyway I guess it’s good for women’s football, just hope Arsenal doesn’t waste her like they do with other transfers.
