Game 125: Diamondbacks at Red Sox lineups and notes – The Boston Globe
After dropping their third consecutive series, the Red Sox will look to return to their winning ways when they open a three-game series with the Diamondbacks Monday night at Fenway Park.
The Sox return home after dropping five of seven games on the road, and have lost seven of their last nine.
The Red Sox will be without outfielder/designated hitter Masataka Yoshida (left hamstring strain) and right-handed reliever Justin Slaten (elbow inflammation). Both were placed on the injured list Sunday.
Yoshida is batting .274 with five home runs and 28 RBIs this season, and Slaten is 2-4 with a 4.60 ERA in 36 relief appearances.
The Diamondbacks may be without Nolan Arenado. The 35-year-old third baseman hit two home runs in a 10-3 victory over Atlanta on Saturday, but pulled out of Sunday’s 5-3 loss to the Braves with what the team called left trunk discomfort.
