Frost forecast for central and southern regions
Namibia braces for intensifying cold and frost across central and southern regions following a sharp drop in temperatures earlier this week.
Staff Reporter THE cold and windy conditions that affected several interior areas on Tuesday are expected to persist, and may even intensify, as frost is forecast in central and southern regions on Wednesday.. This prediction comes from the Namibia Meteorological Service, which has urged the public to prepare for the anticipated drop in temperatures.. Some areas have already experienced a recent temperature decline, with Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa Region recording temperatures as low as -1°C
on Tuesday morning.. Windhoek in the Khomas Region also experienced consistently cool and windy conditions on Tuesday.. In addition to the expected cold, some places are also expected to see rain showers on Wednesday.. These showers are likely to primarily affect the southern and Zambezi Regions.. The Zambezi Region has already experienced rainfall in recent days, including Katima Mulilo, which recorded around 36 mm of rain between Monday and Tuesday morning..
