Free Wear OS “Kick It” brings World Cup scores to wrists

On match days, the hardest part is never the whistle—it’s the waiting. The minute you look away from the screen, you miss the moment the score flips, the update lands, or your team’s next match pops up.
Now, that frantic phone-checking may get a little less necessary. Facer and Citizen have launched “Kick It,” a free Wear OS watch face that pulls live, licensed World Cup information directly onto a smartwatch—so the numbers stay on your wrist instead of tucked behind an app.
“Kick It” was built to follow the tournament as it happens. using Citizen’s Riiiver platform rather than relying on a static team display. Once you pick your team, the watch face automatically shifts its color palette and theme to match. From there. it brings a packed stream of match and tournament details to the watch screen. including headlines tied to your team’s upcoming and live matches. your team’s colors and flag. your team’s next scheduled match. and live scores with match status.
It also doesn’t stop at the next kickoff. The watch face shows group standings and rankings. team records and tournament performance. and opponent rankings and records—turning the watch face into a quick-reference hub during the kind of long. back-and-forth World Cup stretches where everyone ends up scanning for context.
There’s a second, more emotional layer to the design. Facer’s Face Chime feature is set to play a roaring crowd chant—“Ole. Ole. Ole. Ole”—at the top of every hour. For fans who want the game’s atmosphere to follow them beyond the stadium. it’s a small cue that the tournament is still running. even when you’re not glued to the TV.
Availability is limited for now, but wide enough to matter immediately. “Kick It” is currently free for users in the US, Canada, Japan, and the UK on watches running Wear OS 6. An EU launch is planned for the near future.
The watch face is available free on Facer for smartwatches running Google Wear OS 6 or later. To access it, users can open the Kick It watch face in the Facer app on an Android phone.

So now my watch is just gonna yell Ole Ole like every hour? Sounds annoying but also kinda cool lol.
I don’t get why this is “licensed live data” when half the time apps lag anyway. Like if it’s on your wrist, it should update instantly, right? Otherwise it’s just another notification screen.
Wait so the watch face changes colors to whatever team you pick?? That’s actually kinda genius. But also I’m confused… is it live scores or just headlines? Cuz headlines aren’t really “scores.”
Free watch face sounds great but I bet it only works if you have the internet and battery lasts. I used a sports app once and it drained my watch in like a day, then it stopped updating. Also Wear OS 6 only… not everyone has that yet so it’s kinda not “for everyone,” more like for people with newer watches.
