Fortnite Watch – Fortnite is giving players an early taste of The Mandalorian and Grogu with a Watch Party Island opening May 19, featuring a 10-minute movie sneak peek and a message from director Jon Favreau after completing in-island activities.
Fortnite players won’t have to wait for theaters to start feeling the buzz. This Tuesday, Epic Games is opening a special Watch Party Island tied to The Mandalorian and Grogu—letting players earn an early taste of the movie ahead of its Friday release.
The island opens at 10AM ET on May 19. After completing a set of activities, players will unlock access to 10 minutes of the film, along with a message from director Jon Favreau.
Fortnite’s team laid out the sequence for how it works: the Watch Party Island was “Created with Fairview Portals and Beyond Creative. ” and players will be recruited as a Deputy to “collect bounties. defend the city from waves of enemies. and find Grogu.” The loop continues with a time gate—after spending 20 minutes exploring Nevarro. players unlock the exclusive Mandalorian Sanctuary loading screen.
The push is timed tightly to the movie’s momentum. The Mandalorian and Grogu follows the events of the Disney+ series, and it brings back Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta, Jabba the Hutt’s son.
