Fortnite Chapter – Fortnite will go offline for the Chapter 7 Season 3 Runners update after the Shattered live event on June 5, 2026. Downtime begins at 7:30 PM ET / 11:30 PM UTC and is expected to run until June 6, with regional servers returning at set times.

By the time the Shattered live event ends, Fortnite won’t be staying put for long. The game is set to go offline for the Chapter 7 Season 3 Runners update, and once the servers drop, every game mode is off-limits until maintenance finishes and the new season is ready.

The Chapter 7 Season 3 update is coming right after the Shattered live event, which is scheduled for 7 PM ET. After that. the servers will be taken down to make room for the next wave of battle royale content—starting with a new Battle Pass and a revamped Island—along with other changes tied to the season.

Downtime starts at 7:30 PM ET / 11:30 PM UTC on June 5, 2026. The maintenance window is expected to run until 5:00 AM UTC on June 6, 2026. During that stretch. players won’t be able to get into any of the different game modes. and they’ll have to wait for servers to come back online before hopping into Chapter 7 Season 3.

The expected server return times vary by region:

North America
Pacific Time (PT): 10:00 PM, June 5
Eastern Time (ET): 1:00 AM, June 6

Europe
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT): 5:00 AM, June 6
British Summer Time (BST): 6:00 AM, June 6
Central European Summer Time (CEST): 7:00, June 6

Japan Time (JST): 2:00 PM, June 6

Oceania
Australian Eastern Time (AEDT): 3:00 PM, June 6
New Zealand Time (NZDT): 5:00 PM, June 6

Maintenance is expected to conclude at the times listed above. with players able to jump into Chapter 7 Season 3 Runners immediately after. There is one catch: downtime can be extended if issues show up on the developer’s end. Because of that. it’s recommended to keep an eye on @FortniteStatus on its X handle for updates on when servers are actually back.

With this being a major update. an extension isn’t just possible—it’s been the pattern during several previous updates. For now. the official expectation is clear: the window runs from the start time after the Shattered event. through the planned maintenance period. and ends with the season returning for players to get back in.

  1. Every time they say “until 5 AM” it magically turns into like all day. I’ll just check FortniteStatus obsessively I guess.

  2. Wait, is the Shattered event at 7 PM but servers go down at 7:30? That seems like it would cut it off for people. Or maybe they mean after the event ends? idk.

  3. Why do they even need maintenance right after the live thing… seems like they could do it earlier. Also the times by region are confusing, like I’m pretty sure “GMT” is the same as ET??
