Former Alabama running back predicts 2 teams will beat Tide this season

Former Alabama running back and CBS Sports college football Analyst Damien Harris predicts the Crimson Tide will go 10-2 in 2026.

Harris has the Tide falling to Georgia and Texas A&M. Alabama will face both teams at home this fall.

The analyst feels the Georgia train will keep on rolling this fall and picks up a win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

“They’ve got the most experienced quarterback in the SEC,” Harris said on CBS Sports. “They’ve got the most experienced head coach in the SEC. Two guys that I just trust so much. Kirby, a guy that I played for, but he sets a foundation for his program, and they just play football the right way. I got a chance to talk to him at SEC Media Day. He emphasized running the football more aggressively this year. If they do that, I think Georgia’s gonna be tough to stop. So this is where I give Alabama their first loss.”

Harris feels the Aggies will be too much for the Tide.

“I think the Aggies are a little bit much,” said Harris. “I think the Aggies are a little bit much. You’ve got Marcel Reed, you’ve got this Elko-led defense. I mean, he gets his team to play a physical, nasty style of football that a lot of people cannot match. And then when you look at the quarterback, Marcel Reed, like I talked about, this is almost the Lamar Jackson of college football right now. If he can just hone in his accuracy, delivering the football to the right spot, he might even work his way into the Heisman conversation before it’s all said and done this season.”

Alabama opens the season against East Carolina on Sept. 5.
