Prime Video has dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series Vought Rising—and it wastes no time showing off the kind of horror The Boys fans have learned to expect.
The teaser brings back Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash in their roles from The Boys. with the spinoff set to take viewers back in time. In the opening footage. the show leans into the “gory” aspect that has become part of the franchise’s identity. while also positioning the plot as a “twisted murder mystery” tied to the origins of Vought International.
The creative team has already teased what that timeline will reveal. Executive producer Eric Kripke and showrunner/executive producer Paul Grellong previously described the series as covering the “early exploits of Soldier Boy” and the “diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront. who was then going by the name Clara Vought.” They added that the show will bring “salacious. grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”.
The cast going forward isn’t limited to just the two familiar faces. Mason Dye is also reprising his The Boys role in Vought Rising. Ackles and Cash are set to produce as well, adding to the sense that this prequel-era story is meant to stay tightly connected to the world audiences already know.
