The storms will reach northern and central counties during the late morning. bringing an isolated threat of damaging winds and quarter-sized hail. After that. the rain and cloud cover are expected to move out by the early afternoon. clearing the path for temperatures to spike across southern Iowa.

  1. It says quarter-sized hail and damaging winds but then it’s like “drink water” like that fixes it? My yard already looks cooked and I’m not even south of I-80.

  2. Wait are they saying the extreme heat warning starts AFTER the showers leave? I thought storms meant it would cool down but I swear it just gets worse right after. Also triple digits “feels like” is always a scam… then again I’ve definitely felt it.

  3. Okay but why is Cedar Rapids always the headline for this stuff like the whole state doesn’t get it? 20-30 mph winds behind the storms is wild. My cousin said “hail means tornadoes” which I don’t even know if that’s true but now I’m nervous to drive.
