The film, titled “Supergirl,” is described as DC Studios’ newest feature, set to arrive in theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. Milly Alcock stars in a dual role as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El, with Craig Gillespie directing from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira.

In the story as presented, when an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El—reluctantly—joins forces with an unlikely companion for an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.

The film is based on characters from DC—“Supergirl” specifically based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. For audiences. the reveal also comes with a clear sense of when to start counting: “Supergirl” will be in theaters and IMAX across North America on June 26. 2026. and internationally beginning 24 June 2026.

  3. Not to be dramatic but “vengeance and justice” sounds like they’re trying to copy Batman vibes again. Also I swear I heard James Gunn left DC? so which is it? I’m confused but I still wanna see the costume.

  4. Dual role is interesting but like… is Kara the Supergirl from the old movies or is this a whole different timeline? The ad says June 24 internationally and June 26 North America and I already know people gonna spoiler it immediately. Also Jason Momoa being there makes me think it’ll connect to Aquaman somehow even if the article doesn’t say anything.
