Fairfax County adds self-service kiosks for car tax payments – WTOP News

Residents in Fairfax County, Virginia, now have another way to pay their car taxes.

The county has installed four self-service tax payment kiosks at government buildings in Fairfax, Alexandria, Reston and Annandale. The machines accept cash, checks and credit cards. They can also be used to check account balances and print receipts.

The kiosks currently only handle personal property taxes, commonly known as the car tax.

The locations in Reston and Annandale are available 24 hours a day because they are located at government centers that share space with police stations. The other two kiosks are available during normal building hours.

Fairfax County said personal property tax payments are due Oct. 5 to avoid late fees and penalties.
