Then Nan falls and breaks her hip. and Alice makes a plan to get them both back to Barry’s Bay for another summer in the place they both know.
The quiet doesn’t last. Barry’s Bay’s peace gets disrupted by the roar of a familiar yellow boat—and the man driving it. Charlie Florek was nineteen when Alice took his photo from afar. So it’s basically a rom-com now? Cool I guess.
I didn’t even realize it was getting renewed but the “love story sparked on a lake” line sounds kinda predictable. Also countdown feeling to it?? Like they’re teasing spoilers or what.
Wait, the article says “pivots” to the next chapter but it’s based on a sequel book? So is that why everyone keeps talking about the yellow speedboat photo like it’s proof of a crime or something? I’m confused but I’m invested now.
Prime Video really said “every year after” like the title wasn’t already confusing. I read “Nan falls and breaks her hip” and immediately thought the show was gonna get dark, then it’s like back to the cottage and finding love. I guess the lake answers whatever, but I’m mostly mad they didn’t just continue the first storyline without the book switch.
