Evan Rachel Wood Calls Joey King a ‘Sweetheart’ in New Comments About ‘Practical Magic’ Sequel | Just Jared

Evan Rachel Wood is once again showing her support for Joey King taking over the role of Kylie Owens in the sequel to Practical Magic.
The 38-year-old actress played the daughter of Sandra Bullock‘s character in the 1998 movie, but the role was recast for the sequel as the character is now supposed to be in her early 20s.
Evan previously expressed her disappointment for not being included in the sequel, but said she understood why she wasn’t cast and sent her love to Joey.

Joey spoke out at the Practical Magic 2 premiere about having a “lovely conversation” with Evan.
“She is so talented and so beautiful and she made this role so special when she was a young girl. And I feel so grateful to be able to play Kylie at this age. But I love Evan so much and I so appreciate her kind words and the exchange that we shared,” Joey told THR.
Evan spoke out on Tuesday (September 1) about her chat with Joey.
“I really appreciated Joey King reaching out to me, because no one who worked on the original film did,” Evan wrote. She added, “She’s a sweetheart.”

Former child actress Alexandra Artrip played Sally’s younger daughter Antonia Owens in the first movie and also did not return for the sequel. Her role was taken over by Maisie Williams.
