Eva Longoria and DeMarcus Ware ate at 2 restaurants in ‘best day’ in D-FW
Visit the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters, eat barbecue and drink margaritas: Those are three must-do activities in Dallas-Fort Worth, according to the celebrities featured on new Roku TV show NFL Hometown Eats executive produced by Eva Longoria.
The three episodes feature a celebrity football superfan paired with an NFL player, both on a mission to find the best restaurants near the football stadium.
When the show is released on Aug. 24, 2026, one episode features Texas native Longoria and former Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware. The 23-minute episode includes a chat with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at the team’s Frisco headquarters on NFL Draft Day. There, Longoria and Ware sampled food from Coppell Deli, which Ware said is a longtime favorite for Cowboys players. Then, Longoria and Ware traveled to Arlington to visit Hurtado Barbecue and Mariano’s Hacienda.
Through it all, Longoria is the cheery co-host, hungry for more.
“Ugh,” Longoria said after taking a bite: “I love food.”
They picked Hurtado Barbecue because of its proximity to AT&T Stadium in Arlington. (And owner Brandon Hurtado is no stranger to a TV show, as he was on Season 2 of Landman.) After sampling smoked and fried quail, Longoria said Hurtado’s brisket birria tacos were “the best birria I’ve had in my life.”
“It’s so good, I’m gonna cry.”
The two then visited Mariano’s, the Tex-Mex restaurant owned by Mariano Martinez, who invented the frozen margarita machine in 1971. Martinez told the athlete and actress that Dallas Cowboys players became Mariano’s customers early in the Tex-Mex restaurant’s history.
“When I invented the frozen margaritas,” Martinez said on the show, “everyone thought they were going to be a girls’ drink. They said, ‘Men aren’t going to drink frozen drinks.’ It was the Dallas Cowboys that made it a man’s drink.”
What didn’t make the show was the extended amount of time Longoria sat with Martinez and listened to his stories. Martinez recalled telling Longoria he was turned down by 11 banks before the 12th one agreed to finance his Tex-Mex restaurant. Mariano’s was “running on fumes” at first, he said.

After eating sandwiches, barbecue and Tex-Mex in D-FW on the show, Longoria said, “I think that’s the best day I’ve ever had in Dallas.”
The other two episodes of NFL Hometown Eats feature comedian Joel McHale and NFL cornerback Devon Witherspoon, in a spotlight on Seattle; and actress Rebel Wilson and NFL wide receiver Davante Adams in Los Angeles.
