Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi snaps after fan selfie request

A viral video from Jacob Elordi’s recent outing in Japan shows a tense moment with a fan who approached for a selfie, including a sharp rebuke over being touched. The clip has split viewers, especially as Elordi’s boundary-checking has drawn attention before.
Jacob Elordi’s recent outing in Japan didn’t just end with a viral selfie request—it ended with a clear line drawn in real time.
Footage of the encounter. shared on Instagram by Otavio Bittencourt. shows him approaching Elordi on a busy street and calling out. “What up. chief?” Bittencourt then places his hand on Elordi’s back while trying to ask for a selfie. Elordi, visibly irritated by the contact, turns back and tells him, “Don’t touch me, bro.”.
Bittencourt posted the clip with the caption, “Just wanted a picture chief,” and it quickly spread across social media, triggering mixed reactions among fans and users online.
Some viewers labeled Elordi’s response “rude. ” with one Instagram commenter writing. “Bro. that was rude. it wasn’t that big of a deal. you just wanted a picture. ” while another argued the moment could have ended more smoothly: “He couldn’t [sic] handled that better. take the pic. move on. everybody’s happy.”.
Other people defended Elordi. saying the issue wasn’t just how he reacted—it was the fan’s choice to touch him at all. One comment reads, “Second-hand embarrassment and not because of Jacob. Why do you touch unsolicited people on the streets?” Another added: “Do not touch anyone without consent!. Do not invade personal space!. They are famous, but they are human beings too!. He is not working or at a Meet & Greet, he is in his free time!. Privacy must be respected!”.
Elordi’s fans have pointed to a pattern: he’s built a reputation for being strict about boundaries in public and snapping at fans who push too far. That reputation has followed him beyond Japan.
In December 2025, Elordi had a heated run-in with a photographer while passing through the Gare du Nord in Paris. As he moved through the station. accompanied by security. the photographer called out. “Jacob. we love you.” Elordi paused. took out one of his earphones. and responded bluntly. “You make it really hard for me to live” (per Page Six). Even after the photographer repeated, “We love you,” Elordi didn’t soften his stance, replying, “I don’t love you. You make it really hard for me to live.”.
And the boundary debate has surfaced again in earlier incidents. In early 2024. Elordi faced accusations that he grabbed a radio producer by the throat after the producer joked that he should fill an empty container with bathwater. referencing a scene from Saltburn. The incident took place in Sydney and was recorded on camera by the radio producer.
The radio producer involved. Joshua Fox from Australian station KIIS FM. later described the exchange on the Kyle and Jackie O Breakfast Show. Fox said he initially agreed to stop filming when asked “because the joke didn’t land. ” but Elordi then got “right in my face” and demanded the footage be deleted (per BBC). Fox refused to delete the recording. saying he wanted to keep it as evidence. and alleged that Elordi reacted by pushing him against the wall while grabbing his throat. Police told the BBC that the altercation was being investigated at the time.
Put together. these moments—whether it’s a hand on the back in Japan. a sharp dismissal in Paris. or allegations tied to a confrontation in Sydney—have become part of how Elordi is being read in public: not as someone eager for attention in the wild. but as someone quick to shut down contact that crosses his personal space.
