Silent Hill: Townfall, officially revealed four months ago by Konami, has now had its ESRB rating surface. Ratings like this usually show up when a game is nearing release, and the timing has fans expecting the next big reveal soon.

The franchise has history at major PlayStation showcases. and with that schedule in front of everyone. it wouldn’t take much for the release date to finally land in public.

The ESRB summary leaves little doubt about the game’s tone. Silent Hill: Townfall is rated “M for Mature 17+” with Blood, Strong Language, and Violence. The rating describes it as a survival-horror experience set on a fictional island town in Scotland.

Players are presented from a first-person perspective. exploring locations. solving puzzles. and using weapons—specifically pistols. shotguns. and axes—to defend against hostile creatures. The description also points to moments where mutated enemies can appear out of nowhere and lunge at the player. including jumpscares.

Combat is described with realistic gunfire and large blood-splatter effects that can stain the surrounding area. Violence in cutscenes is also included in the rating details: a close-up depiction of a character stabbing a body. and a man being eaten by a monster. The summary notes the word “f**k” is heard in the game.

Konami hasn’t hinted at anything publicly, but the clock is ticking—at least according to the usual way ratings land. If today’s State of Play doesn’t bring a release date, the game could still show up later this week at Summer Game Fest.

For now, Silent Hill: Townfall has no release date yet. But it is in development by Screen Burn for Konami, and it is confirmed for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
