Erling Haaland’s Mediterranean odyssey continued this week along the French Riviera, where Norway’s favorite son was joined by his brother and friends at a five-star hotel once frequented by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Pablo Picasso
Wearing a simple white tank top and khaki shorts, the 26-year-old was seen leaving the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc for what appeared to be a planned boating excursion, although that couldn’t be verified.
And although they weren’t captured in the Daily Mail’s photos, Haaland’s investor brother Astor as well as fashion influencer Samir Kamani were also on hand in Antibes.
For Haaland, it was just the latest stop in a weeks-long journey through the Mediterranean since leading Norway to the World Cup quarterfinals.
A week earlier, the Manchester City striker attended teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma’s wedding in Southern Italy with partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen. The Norway star, fresh from accumulating an army of new fans at the World Cup, opted for a black suit, bow-tie and sunglasses as he happily walked hand-in-hand with Johansen.
He was later filmed leading a group of guests in recreating Norway’s iconic ‘rowing’ celebration from the tournament in North America.

Prior to that, Haaland turned 26 alongside Johansen in Sardinia, where he was pictured wearing a Viking helmet.

Meanwhile, on another hemisphere, new babies are being named for Norway’s World Cup hero.
In Peru, more than 500 babies have been named after Haaland, according to figures published by the country’s national registry. In total, 468 newborns were named Haaland, while 91 received the name Erling Haaland.
The 6-foot-5 Scandinavian center forward’s full name of Erling Braut Haaland was used for four newborns.
‘Different football stars serve as inspiration for Peruvians to register their children with these names,’ Ivan Torres, a spokesperson for the country’s national registry, told Panamericana TV.

He added that the frequency of name registrations had ballooned as Norway advanced in the tournament, joking that ‘Haaland is Peruvian too.’
But according to the figures collected by Peruvian authorities, Haaland still lagged far behind the World Cup’s best known icons when it came to inspiring baby names.
Brazil’s Neymar topped the list, with 33,812 newborns being named after the legend, who looks set to retire from international duty after a disappointing tournament.
Haaland’s extended off-season break is nearly over. He was allowed to miss the team’s Asian tour, but will be expected to rejoin Manchester City prior to the Community Shield match with Arsenal on August 16 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
