Erica Campbell didn’t just mark a wedding anniversary—she shared the kind of moment that stops people mid-scroll. The Mary Mary singer recently celebrated 25 years of marriage with her husband, Warryn Campbell, with a stunning vow renewal that took place Saturday, May 16.

PEOPLE published an exclusive report on Monday, May 18, saying the couple renewed their vows at the California Worship Center in San Fernando, California. The outlet also reported that the pair originally said “I do” back in 2001, with 600 guests attending the vow renewal celebration.

In a message shared with the outlet, Erica framed the milestone as more than romance. “Because why would you not celebrate 25 years of staying together?. When you have gone through sickness and health. better and worse. and all the beauty and battles that come with choosing a love like this. what remains after the storms of life is something truly beautiful and unshakable. ” she said.

Erica said the couple chose the worship center because it is their “spiritual home.” Her gown, meanwhile, was designed by Nigerian designer Nneka C. Alexander of Brides by Nona.

She also described the feeling of the day itself, saying, “We now have 25 years of life and love behind us, along with a huge family that has watched us live it out. I know it sounds corny, but it honestly felt like the first time.”

Erica continued with what she called the staying power of the relationship: “The fun, the laughter, and what we have built together will definitely outlast us. It’s a legacy.”

When she talked about what keeps the marriage steady, she pointed to the parts many couples avoid. The outlet said the key to their love is “the hard stuff [they] do not like to acknowledge: patience. listening. and not keeping score.” Erica then offered her own guidance. urging people to “Take a deep breath daily. keep coming home to each other. and do not sleep separately. Touch and connect as much as possible, and speak from your heart, not your hurt.”.

The vow renewal landed online at the same time as an even bigger family headline: Tina Campbell’s divorce. As The Shade Room previously reported. in April it was reported that Glendon Campbell filed for divorce from Erica’s sister. Tina. Tina and Glendon allegedly married in 2000, and the report said they allegedly separated in 2024. Against that backdrop, footage of Erica and Warryn’s ceremony drew immediate reactions—including from Tina herself.

As the Shade Room previously reported, Tina did react to the vow renewal footage. Writing in support, Tina posted: “GO HEAD DUB💍💍💍… WORK E😍🔥😍🔥😍🔥😍.”

Social media users also filled TSR’s comment section with their thoughts. Instagram user @nycxelizabeth wrote, “25 years is 25 years, of ups and downs… and still going strong. I love too see this 🫠 may GOD continue to bless them 🙂‍↔️”

Instagram user @dominiquue_ee added, “He cheated too!! He just learned his lesson and never did it again. (That we know of) 😂”

Instagram user @cakey_on_the_mic said, “Gotta celebrate making it to 25 years cuz nowadays people don’t make it to year 2 !”

Instagram user @neekaxshantoi wrote, “25 years is such a blessing 😮‍💨🙏🏾 congratulations to them ❣️”

Instagram user @alaniarenee responded, “Lord prepare a man for me that cry’s after this long of marriage ❤️❤️❤️ so beautiful congrats.”

Instagram user @jaedubayou wrote, “And the fact that he still cries for her says a lot!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽 Happy 25th Anniversary to them both! 💍😍”

Instagram user @randi_dee_dacosta posted, “God bless me and everyone in the comments to experience a long lasting loving fulfilling marriage as this one💕🙏🏾”

Instagram user @dommy.nicole added, “More of this . May god continue to cover their union”

Instagram user @khadijah_1194 wrote, “Y’all are so bothered in these comments. Yes, they had an issue with infidelity early on, but they got past it and have been happy. Everybody may have not done the same thing, but it’s their marriage. Just because Tina is getting a divorce doesn’t mean Erica can’t celebrate her marriage. Tina and Teddy have been separated for at least 2 years. People just want to be negative.”.

Instagram user @diorb said, “I love, love 💕 especially real black love!! We have to normalize this again, the internet has watered down real love and praising side pieces and broken homes. Everybody deserves their one 🤍”

Even the planning stage drew attention. About a week before the vow renewal footage. Erica Campbell took fans on her journey of searching for a wedding dress for her and Warryn’s 25th anniversary. At the time. users in TSR’s comment section reacted. including one person who wrote. “I don’t know but I just feel like this was timed terribly…”.

The latest celebration turned that timing debate into something louder—and far more personal. For Erica and Warryn, it was a day centered on faith, family, and staying power. For the internet. it became a conversation about loyalty. forgiveness. and what people think they’re allowed to celebrate when real-life headlines are still unfolding in the same family.

  1. This is so sweet but I’m like… 600 guests?? That’s wild. Also California Worship Center sounds super fancy, I wish I knew it was happening lol.

  2. Wait so did they renew vows because the marriage was in trouble or is it just like a normal celebratory thing? People love to act like vows = saving the relationship, but maybe I’m mixing it up with those other celebrity couples.

  3. I saw the clip on my feed and thought “what is going on” then read it and yeah it’s actually really beautiful. The part about “spiritual home” got me, I don’t even go to church like that but I get it. Also the dress being Nigerian designer Nneka C. Alexander—good for her, love when they bring culture in. Not gonna lie tho 25 years and she still talks like it was the first day, that’s not corny at all, that’s goals.
