Eric André’s RAW beating linked to John Cena

Eric André’s – WWE Monday Night RAW opened with Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns welcoming actor-comedian Eric André—before Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline violently took him down. A new update explains why WWE leaned into the celebrity brutality: André co-stars with John Cena in Netf
The moment Eric André stepped into the opening segment of WWE Monday Night RAW, the tone shifted fast—and it wasn’t supposed to be friendly.
Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns shook hands with André before the actor-comedian went “all handsy” with Jacob Fatu. “The Samoan Werewolf” didn’t play along. He rejected André’s approach. took him down with force. and the segment ended with Fatu executing top rope splashes on André while Reigns looked on and smiled.
For fans who’ve seen WWE lean harder on celebrity involvement in recent years, it was another high-profile beatdown. Travis Scott, Pat McAfee, Jelly Roll, and others have already appeared in major storylines. But with André, the brutality came with a sharper connection than most of the outside guest spots.
A major update surfaced on why WWE chose André for the angle. Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed that André’s appearance on RAW was tied to promotion for his upcoming project with John Cena on Netflix, Little Brother.
“One of the reasons WWE did the angle with Eric Andre last night is he co-stars with John Cena in the new Netflix comedy Little Brother, which will begin streaming on 6/26: So, it was a promotional tie-in deal,” Mike Johnson wrote.
André and John Cena are set to star together in Little Brother. The film is directed by Matt Spicer. Its cast also includes Michelle Monaghan, Christopher Meloni, Ego Nwodim, Sherry Cola, Caleb Hearon, and Ben Ahlers.
Netflix describes the story as following “a famous real estate agent (Cena) whose carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric ‘little brother’ (André) unexpectedly reappears in his life.” With that setup. André’s violent on-screen welcome on RAW now reads differently to viewers watching his celebrity presence unfold in real time—and it also tees up what’s next off the mat.
Little Brother is scheduled to begin streaming on 6/26.

So Cena made Eric André get jumped? Lol WWE is just commercials now.
I didn’t even watch but I saw the headline… like why is everyone always tying wrestling to Netflix shows. Next thing you know they’ll be selling me socks during the top rope thing.
Wait so they say it’s “promotion” but André got slammed by Jacob Fatu and then Reigns smiled so that means they planned violence for the movie? That part is weird. Also John Cena on Netflix?? I thought Cena was like retired from acting.
I swear WWE used to be more about wrestling and now it’s just celebrity beatdowns for whoever has the biggest deal. The article says it’s tied to John Cena in that Little Brother thing starting 6/26… but didn’t André already do something similar with WWE before? Idk I’m confused. Still though Jacob Fatu dropping that splash looked brutal.
