‘Epic Fail’: Dan Bongino’s Fox News Rant Quickly Turns Into A Devastating Self-Own
Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino on Monday tried to dunk on public school teachers in Democrat-run cities, and his words were swiftly used against him.
The conspiracy theorist hit Fox News to perform one of his greatest hits of sorts, ranting about democratic socialism, and used the appearance to promote claims that 50% of students in Chicago public schools can’t read at grade level.
“If there is like an epic fail. What do the kids say? Epic fail in life? Like, you did it, you had one job — you know the meme on X, ‘you had one job.’ Your only job is to teach kids. That’s why it’s called the education system,” he said.
“And kids leave your school and they’re like, ‘Hey can anyone here read?’ Maybe half of them, but the other half can’t even read or do math. You’re like, ‘Brother, you had one job!’”
Since his less-than-10-month stint as the FBI’s second-in-command came to an end earlier this year, Bongino has nestled back into his old life as a podcaster.
Before serving under President Donald Trump, he used his podcast to bash FBI leadership and push conspiracies tied to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, telling his followers that “there’s more than meets the eye there” and people would “lose their minds” should his so-called “client list” be revealed.
Once in his post, he publicly tried to deflate the hype he placed around any revelations that could come from the Epstein case. Privately, he reportedly clashed with then-Attorney General Pam Bondi over the Justice Department’s handling of the files, putting him on thin ice at the bureau.
He eventually bid farewell to the FBI job, one he claimed to hate, in January.
Several critics on X argued that Bongino delivered a self-own, with one user suggesting that his “one job” was to release the Epstein files before adding, “Talk about epic failures.”
Others remarked on Bongino quitting his job, with one user writing, “Guy who quit his one job has thoughts on employment.”
