Enes Kanter is considering suing the Sky after being ejected and banned indefinitely following his courtside clash with Natasha Cloud.
Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom is considering legal action against the Chicago Sky after being ejected from Sunday’s WNBA game against the Indiana Fever and subsequently banned indefinitely from home games at Wintrust Arena.
The incident occurred during the third quarter of the Sky’s 113-90 loss to the Fever. Freedom was seated courtside while wearing a black T-shirt featuring the definition, “WOMAN noun. adult human female.” After Sky guard Natasha Cloud scored, she approached Freedom and confronted him. Freedom stood with his arms raised as the two exchanged words before security and players intervened. He was then escorted from the arena.
The 34-year-old discussed the situation during an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday, saying he believes his removal was unjustified.
“I did not cross over the baseline or sideline, and we’re not allowed to touch any players obviously, the fans,” said Kanter. “So, I didn’t break any rules. So, for them to come out and throw me out of the game and literally, you know, they said his actions were equal to shooting a gun.
“I just cannot believe it. I don’t know who is this PR person, but they are doing a terrible job. We might be looking into a lawsuit for sure because this is unacceptable and this is not what sportsmanship should look like. Natasha Cloud should be the one who got thrown out of the game and fined. We wrote to the Commissioner and the task force, but we’re waiting to hear back from them.”

Sky owner Michael Alter later banned Freedom indefinitely from the team’s home games, while Freedom disputed the suggestion that his appearance was unauthorized. According to Freedom, the Sky’s general manager knew he planned to attend and had wished him well beforehand.
Freedom has also contacted the WNBA commissioner and the league’s task force regarding the incident. He said he is waiting for a response before deciding what happens next.
The confrontation comes after Freedom became involved in the WNBA’s debate over transgender participation. He previously criticized the league over its lack of clear protocols regarding transgender players, following comments from Fever star Sophie Cunningham that transgender athletes should not compete in women’s sports. Freedom subsequently declared for the 2027 WNBA draft while identifying as a woman.
