In 1995, they welcomed their daughter Hailie, who later became the subject of more Eminem songs. They married in 1999.

Not long after, things soured. Eminem was accused of pistol-whipping a man he said he saw kissing his wife. The case didn’t end the way the accusation suggested. The charge was dropped and replaced with a reduced charge of carrying a concealed weapon. and he was sentenced to two years’ probation. The couple divorced in 2001.

Five years later, they shocked the world by remarrying. But the second turn didn’t last. Three months after their remarriage, the rapper filed for divorce. Their second divorce was finalized in 2006, according to People.

Even after the legal filings and the split, the music kept returning to the same subject. Though Eminem built his brand around graphic songs, he apologized to his former wife on the track “Bad Husband” from his 2017 album, “Revival.”

  2. Sounds like the “concealed weapon” charge is just the media re-labeling the same thing. People magazine always leaves out the real juicy parts. Eminem songs like “Bad Husband” are just PR apologies anyway.

  3. Wait so they met as kids and somehow that’s romantic? Then probation and divorce and remarriage like every other year?? My brain can’t keep track. Also Dawn was mentioned and I’m like… was Dawn the one who ran away or Kim? Either way it’s sad all around.
