Ella Langley didn’t just celebrate her record-breaking ACM Awards night.

On Wednesday. the 27-year-old country music superstar shared an Instagram reel that let fans sit in with her while the day unfolded—starting the video with her saying. “Welcome to today.” In quick clips. she shows herself arriving at the venue. getting her hair and makeup done. and then being carried out to the car when the night was over.

Backstage, the emotion isn’t just hers. The video shows her entourage’s reactions to her award win and watching her accept the award on a TV backstage. While the group is celebrating, friends can be heard yelling at the TV for her to cry and “get vulnerable.”

Langley’s own face-and-voice moments land in the same place: honest, unpolished, and a little vulnerable. In the reel, she tells the camera, “Y’all I’ve never cried when I won an award,” adding, “For all of you who get upset when I don’t cry, here’s your chance!”

Fans responded the way the internet has learned to respond to Langley—by pointing back to her personality and sincerity. “God I love you so much, your personality is everything 😍🙌,” one fan wrote. Another added. “This is why I love you girl. you’re as real as they come.” One more commenter. tying it to her music. said. “As a nurse. I will definitely be singing Choosin’ Texas next time I have to do CPR 🤠.”.

The reel includes that playful streak, too. After finding out her song “Choosin’ Texas” is “the perfect beats per minute for CPR,” Langley goofs around in the makeup chair—singing the song as she pretends to give someone CPR.

That mix of nerves. discipline. and laughter matters because Langley’s ACM night wasn’t just a win—it was a new high-water mark. On Sunday, she took home seven ACM Awards, breaking the previous record for most awards won in a single year. That earlier mark was set by Garth Brooks. Faith Hill and Chris Stapleton. who each took home six awards in one night at the show in 1991. 1999 and 2016.

Langley won every award she was nominated for. The haul included female artist of the year. song of the year. single of the year. artist-songwriter of the year. visual media of the year—where she took home two awards—and music event of the year. At the end of the night, she was carried out of the venue.

Her rise didn’t arrive quietly, either. She first gained attention when her song “If You Have To” went viral on TikTok. leading to her getting signed with Columbia Records/Sony Music Nashville. She later reached a wider mainstream audience when “You Look Like You Love Me” from her 2024 debut album “Hungover” went viral on TikTok.

In April, she talked about what it took to make that hit happen. Speaking on an episode of “This Past Weekend with Theo Von. ” Langley said. “Everyone told me that song was not going to work.” She described how. after the label had doubts. she was told to go back in and record again—specifically. “After we cut it. [the label] was like. ‘We really think you need to go back in and sing these verses.’ I was like. ‘I’m not singing it.’ And they were like. ‘You need to sing it.’”.

She later added that she “fought ’em really hard on it,” and that they told her it would “be the worst-performing song on the record.” Instead, it became her first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and went on to win many awards at the CMA and ACM Awards.

And then came “Choosin’ Texas,” the song that fans now associate with everything from high-energy performance to CPR beat jokes. The track earned her even more mainstream visibility by spending 10 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 list. She became the first female country singer to top the Hot 100. Hot Country Songs. and Country Airplay charts at the same time.

  1. Wait so she didn’t cry at first? I feel like the whole country world is gonna argue about that now lol. But I mean good for her, backstage crying or not.

  2. Her saying “don’t half-a—” like… ok motivational country queen. But the part where they carried her out to the car? is that normal or like a security thing? also the article says “record-breaking” but breaking what exactly? Awards? numbers?

  3. I’m sorry but the internet crying “all over again” is so dramatic 😂 If she says she’s never cried when she won, then why are people expecting tears like she’s obligated? Sounds like she’s just overwhelmed and her friends are hype. Still, I like her honesty, even if the headline made it sound way more serious than it was.
