Eagles Have A BIG Problem If DeVonta Smith Isn’t Healthy

Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith sustained an injury in training camp but there is a silver lining to all this.
With training camp in full gear, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is dealing with an injury, and that has caused him to miss time. Despite the injury, there is some silver lining, as the talented receiver is still working out on the side, according to Eagles beat writer David Zangaro.

This is good news for Eagles fans because it means the injury is not debilitating enough to completely sideline him. Likewise, it also means that he could return fairly soon if the hamstring starts to feel better.
The Eagles’ receiving core needs Smith, and his absence from practice is not the best news. But with a few weeks left until the regular season starts, there is time for him to heal. After the Eagles traded disgruntled receiver AJ Brown to the New England Patriots, there was a new hierarchy in the receiver room. Ultimately, it was a first-time experience for Smith. Smith looks to keep getting better after he caught 77 passes for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns last season.
With Philadelphia possibly battling the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East this season, they need their best players available. Currently, the offense revolves around Jalen Hurts at quarterback and Saquon Barkley running the football. Part of what led to Brown’s departure was the heavy focus on the running game. However, they still need to pass the ball to someone every now and then. Tight end Dallas Goedertz is currently the best option if Smith is out, as the rest of the receivers are relatively unproven.
