What we know about Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan return to the UK

Duchess Meghan is giving followers a glimpse inside her life back in the U.K. with Prince Harry and their kids.
The Duchess of Sussex, 45, took to Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 13, to share a video showing the family spending some quality time together in the U.K. following their shocking return there last month.
The video, which strings together a number of short clips, begins with a look at Harry, 41, and Meghan walking hand-in-hand outdoors, seemingly being filmed by one of their kids. The couple’s daughter, Princess Lilibet, 5, is shown riding a bike, as their son, Prince Archie, 7, runs by her side and toward a herd of deer.
“Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham! plays to accompany the footage, which ends with a look at Harry going fishing with Lilibet and Archie. Most of the video shows the family outside, though there’s also a short clip of one of the kids curling up indoors in front of a fireplace.
The emojis for the U.K. flag and a heart were displayed over the video, which Meghan posted on Instagram with no caption.
The video comes after Harry and Meghan officially moved to the U.K. in August, in a surprising decision six years after they stepped back from their roles as senior royals amid tension with the rest of the family. They relocated to the United States and had been living in California ever since.
The couple and their children landed in Birmingham, England, on Aug. 26, arriving ahead of the kids starting school in September, British media outlets including The Telegraph previously reported.
Harry and Meghan have not yet publicly discussed their reason for returning to the U.K. In 2025, Harry told the BBC that he “can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K.”
Despite their return, Harry and Meghan are set to remain as non-working royals, according to a letter sent on behalf of King Charles, per the BBC. They will still not be able to use the “HRH” titles of His and Her Royal Highness and are considered “private citizens with commercial and charitable interests,” the letter said.
