Drunk Pratt Fans Shove Their Way Into Los Angeles Vote

At the Los Angeles mayoral primary on Tuesday, NBC News Now correspondent Liz Kreutz tried to ask Spencer Pratt’s supporters why they back him. But the conversation turned into an aggressive, drunken rant—at one point involving accusations about homelessness a
Tuesday’s Los Angeles mayoral primary was supposed to be a straightforward street interview. It wasn’t.
NBC News Now sent correspondent Liz Kreutz to ask a few of Republican Spencer Pratt’s supporters why they liked him so much. Pratt. a former reality TV figure from MTV’s “The Hills. ” was drawing attention as Los Angeles voters weighed a Democratic incumbent—Mayor Karen Bass (D)—against a candidate who earned roughly 30% of the vote. By Wednesday, Bass secured enough votes to qualify for a Nov. 3 runoff, setting up the possibility that she could face Pratt this fall.
Kreutz’s question quickly met celebration that looked less like campaign enthusiasm and more like a party that spun out of control.
One supporter. wearing a black striped suit and holding both a cigarette and a cocktail. told Kreutz he liked Pratt because “He’s speaking out against communism and socialism. ” and said it was “a real big problem in our cities.” He added that. “Especially in LA. where it’s turned to crap. ” it was “not an accident” and “they’re doing it by design.” The man then said Bass “wants to destroy our city. ” and that seeing Pratt was “nice.”.
His friend jumped in as a kind of translator. Wearing a Pratt shirt and a yellow Venice Beach hat. the man said Kreutz could “simplify it” because “those buzzwords are. like. they-they-they — they melt the brains of. like. left-leaning people.” Then he escalated the language. saying Pratt “doesn’t want you. human feces to be a part of your life. ” and added that he “doesn’t want homeless children outside. ” before the exchange began to intensify.
Kreutz appeared visibly uneasy as the discussion kept moving to insults and graphic references. When the word “feces” and the phrase “homeless” landed, she started backing away from the rowdy duo.
“You didn’t like that!” the man in the yellow hat yelled while pointing at Kreutz. “Oh, she ran away!”
The rant kept going. As the man continued yelling at the camera about “homeless people outside of the elementary schools having sex with their own hands” while making a stroking gesture, Kreutz backed up even further.
“We appreciate you! We talked a lot about the homelessness, thank you,” Kreutz said, trying to end the moment with distance.
That didn’t slow the tension. The supporter grew more annoyed that Kreutz had cut him off and moved to her microphone. He grabbed it and shouted into it: “I don’t appreciate you, ma’am!” Then he stormed off.
Back inside the studio, Hallie Jackson addressed what had happened. “Thank you for navigating that so well,” Jackson told a flummoxed Kreutz.
Kreutz then looked around to see where the yellow hat supporter had gone. A new man stepped into frame—wearing a blazer and holding a small American flag—and started rambling directly into Kreutz’s mic. “I just want to shout out … the chief of staff of Spencer. She’s incredible. MAGA. Mar-a-Lago queen!” he said.
Behind him, the Russell Brand-looking bro lifted the two cocktails he had been holding into the air while shouting along.
Kreutz, now with a big grin, tried to keep the tone light. “Hallie, all I’ll say is they’re taking a few shots, they’re feeling good out here,” she said. “The margaritas are flowing there,” Jackson quipped.
The episode left viewers watching an election question—why someone supports Spencer Pratt—collide with a very different kind of political performance: loud. personal. and increasingly confrontational. unfolding as Los Angeles moved toward its Nov. 3 runoff between Karen Bass and a Republican nominee who, at roughly 30% of the vote, is still very much in play.

Communism talk in LA elections is wild. Like what is happening.
I didn’t even finish it but Spencer Pratt is literally from TV so idk why people take him serious. The homeless accusations part just sounds like everyone’s yelling at each other and nobody knows anything.
Wait so she got shoved by drunk fans? That sounds more like the supporters are the problem than Pratt. Also wasn’t Bass already in charge? If LA is “turning to crap” how is that somehow communism and not just normal politics lol.
This is exactly why I can’t do LA politics. One second it’s a “street interview” and then it’s talking about socialism, communism, and like… human feces?? Like I get homelessness is bad, but people are acting like they have some secret master plan. Also the guy said it’s “by design,” but by who?? Democrats? NBC? Spencer? I’m lost.
