Drew Lock replaces Sam Darnold in Patriots clash after suffering hip injury

The Seahawks walked into the NFL opener with excitement. But Sam Darnold took he air out of the stadium with his injury versus the Patriots.
Sam Darnold entered his first NFL season as a defending Super Bowl champion. The quarterback faced the very team he helped beat the New England Patriots to kickoff the new run. But fans of the Seattle Seahawks started to gasp following their first offensive drive.
Darnold took a sack to close the drive. Then he noticeably limped off under his own power and headed inside the medical tent.
Now Darnold walked into the locker room for further evaluation, per NBC Sports sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung. Backup Drew Lock stepped in for Darnold right away. Darnold was ruled with a hip injury and is now questionable to return.
