Drew Carey attacks Spencer Pratt ahead of LA mayor race

Comedian Drew Carey called Spencer Pratt a “serial scammer” in a profanity-filled post, sparking a rapid counterattack from Pratt, who said Carey appears in the Jeffrey Epstein files. The spat arrives amid a closely watched Los Angeles mayoral race with sharp
For Drew Carey, it wasn’t enough to disagree with Spencer Pratt. It was something closer to disgust.
On Friday, Carey posted on Threads that while he understood “being angry/unsatisfied,” people should still “get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass.” He added: “F**k this guy already.”
Pratt, a former reality TV star and Los Angeles mayoral candidate, responded on Monday on X. His rebuttal centered on Carey’s name appearing in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Carey’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A search of Carey’s name in the Epstein files brings up a man named Jeff Davis, who—according to a 2002 email—told Ghislane Maxwell, Epstein’s imprisoned co-conspirator, that he allegedly had dinner with Carey.
The exchange lands inside a campaign that already carries public scrutiny and personal history for Pratt. The former “The Hills” star announced his run for mayor of Los Angeles about one year after his home burned down during the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire.
Pratt’s campaign website frames the effort around “crisis leadership and emergency readiness,” and it also lists homelessness among the issues he says he plans to address if elected.
On the political side, Pratt has found strong backing in the Republican orbit. Many Republicans, including President Donald Trump, have endorsed Pratt. Pratt has also raised more than 10 times as much in donations as the incumbent mayor, Karen Bass.
But the support is not unanimous within Pratt’s own family. His sister, Stephanie Pratt, has warned against voting for him, calling him “unqualified and inexperienced,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. On X in February, she wrote, “A vote for him is a vote for stupidity. He’s just trying to stay famous and sell his memoir don’t be fooled.”.
The Carey-Pratt back-and-forth adds another layer of tension to a race already defined by money, endorsements, and competing visions for Los Angeles—now pulled into a more personal argument that turns on whether a life lived in public can be separated from allegations that refuse to stay buried.

Wow people really arguing on socials instead of doing anything for LA.
I don’t even know who Spencer Pratt is but if Drew Carey said serial scammer then yeah… sounds bad. But also that Epstein file thing?? Like how is that not automatically disqualifying for everyone.
Jeffrey Epstein files is always a rabbit hole lol. Carey probably did have dinner or whatever, but that doesn’t mean scammer? Then again Carey saying “get behind someone competent” like he’s the mayor himself. Also LA mayor race already messy with Karen Bass and homelessness, so this is just more distraction.
This is why I hate reality TV people, they start drama forever. Spencer Pratt’s whole thing is being loud and staying in the spotlight, not actually running a city. And then Drew Carey comes at him like it’s some moral compass test, but I read somewhere Drew was in those files too? Not saying either one is innocent, I’m just like… if your name shows up, how can you even campaign with a straight face. Plus LA already burning down last year, and they’re still talking about fame.
