Dream’s Angel Reese breaks A’ja Wilson’s WNBA record with stunning stat vs. Sparks

Angel Reese had a night to remember on Monday, with the Atlanta Dream star forward making WNBA history during a game against the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Reese entered the game with 432 total rebounds in the 2026 WNBA season, trailing just Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson for most boards ever in a single campaign. Wilson set the record in 2024, when she pulled down a total of 451 rebounds. The former LSU Tigers women’s basketball star Reese made sure that record wouldn’t stand for long, finishing the Sparks game with an incredible 25 (!) rebounds.

Of course, the Dream were not going to let that accomplishment go by without flexing it on social media.

“YOU CAN’T STOP HER Angel Reese now holds the WNBA single-season record for total rebounds. Dominant in her game ,” Atlanta shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Reese has always been known as a rebounding machine, and she surely lived up to that reputation against the Sparks. On top of her outrageous total on the glass, the 24-year-old Reese came away with 11 points, three assists and three steals in 38 minutes of action in the Dream’s 78-71 win.

She shot just 4-for-14 from the field, but her tenacity on the glass gave Atlanta several extra possessions, as eight of her rebounds were off the offensive glass — as many as the difference between the Dream’s and the Sparks’ total shot attempts.

The Dream have six more games left on their schedule in the regular season, giving Angel Reese several more chances to pad her single-season rebounding record.
