Dorit Kemsley Says She Texted Erika Jayne Again

After a tense season that left Dorit Kemsley feeling blindsided during an Italy cast trip, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star says she reached out to Erika Jayne over trial-related headlines—and they’ve since reconnected through text.

Dorit Kemsley thought things were already settling—until an Italy trip turned suddenly, sharply emotional.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars became on the outs during the last season, including a tense moment during a cast trip to Italy. Dorit has now revisited what happened, saying the relationship didn’t go sour in the usual way—there hadn’t been cross words before that one day.

While promoting her memoir, Unburdened, Dorit shared that she and Erika Jayne have been reconnecting again. She said she reached out after seeing headlines about Erika’s upcoming trial and the firm that bought her trial. Dorit described being upset by what she was reading, and said she contacted Erika.

“She messaged me right back with the same warmth that we would even before we ever had any issue. ” Dorit said on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio. She added that Erika reached out again weeks later. when the headlines were still in the press and they discussed getting together soon. “There’s a lot of love. There’s a lot of history,” Dorit said.

When Dorit turned to the Italy moment. she said the emotional weight of the trip landed because she believed the foundation between them was still solid. “You know. prior to that one moment in Italy. Erika and I didn’t have. we never had a cross word. ” she said. “So, you know, there was a lot of emotions.”.

She pointed to the wider pressure of the past couple of years. describing how she was living much of it in real time while cameras followed her. She said she wanted things to be good with PK, but that communication between them had been difficult. She also addressed issues with Kyle during the season. saying she “did not expect going into the season” and that she thought they “really turned a corner.”.

“So, then to feel that it was, I felt blindsided,” Dorit said. “And that’s exactly how I felt by Erika in Italy.”

Dorit tied that feeling to the specific sequence of events leading up to the confrontation. She said she had been in Erika’s room at 2:00 in the morning the night before. sitting on her bed in the pitch black. She added that Erika was getting ready to sleep—or that Dorit may have even woken her. Dorit said they talked and everything seemed fine.

Then came the next day, in a desolate town, where Dorit said Erika’s intentions felt misread. “I think her intention was to kind of get Kyle and I back together,” Dorit said, “but then [it felt like an ambush].”

In a separate recent podcast appearance on Untraditionally Lala with Lala Kent, Dorit echoed the same idea that the gap between her and Erika hasn’t been permanent—she said they’ve “had some text messages,” and that they’ll get together.

She also spoke directly about what would be required for her relationship with Kyle to mend. Dorit said it would take Kyle wanting to meet and speak. “All she needs to do really is want to make things better,” Dorit told Lala. She emphasized that she believes reconciliation requires two people. and said she’s always open to making things better and “mending fences.”.

Even if mending fences leads to a changed friendship, Dorit said she doesn’t mind that—what she doesn’t want is the current standoff. “This is a long standing friendship,” she said, noting that she and Kyle have known each other for ten years, “almost ten years.”

Dorit pointed out that a show like RHOBH creates a shared experience that people outside the cast may not fully understand. “You know. when you do a show together. you go through an experience that the only people that understand that are the people that are going through it. ” she said. “And it’s really something special. So, I’d hate to see Kyle and I, you know, not be able to fix things.”.

Her comments arrive after an RHOBH executive producer addressed rumors that Dorit has been put on pause from the show.
