DoorDash outage hits thousands with checkout errors

DoorDash outage – Thousands of DoorDash users reported a widespread outage on Sunday afternoon, saying they were blocked by “something went wrong” and “unexpected error try again” messages—most often while checking out shopping carts. DoorDash has not issued an official update,
On Sunday afternoon, DoorDash stopped feeling instant for thousands of users—right when they were trying to check out.
The delivery app is down for many users. according to DownDetector. a site that tracks outages based on people’s reports. Around 6. 000 users were reporting issues with DoorDash at the time. and many described running into an error message that simply read: “something went wrong” while trying to access delivery services.
DownDetector also showed reports of “unexpected error try again” later messages. The most common problem, according to the breakdown on the outage tracker, was happening during checkout. A large share of users said the app wasn’t working—38%—while 17% reported problems with ordering.
DoorDash has not issued an official update. Even as hundreds of people complained online about errors when ordering, there were no replies coming through DoorDash’s Help X account, which is tasked with handling user complaints.
The frustration spilled quickly onto social media. One user wrote, “DoorDash is acting up. Am I going to have to cook for myself tonight? OMG.”
Others described the trouble in plain terms—orders failing even after trying again on different devices. “Door Dash are you all experiencing any issues in the Raleigh North Carolina area?” one person asked. “We keep trying to put an order through and we keep getting an error message. Tried it on two different phones.”.
Some users said the outage didn’t just block their orders—it also raised fears about payment. “DoorDash took anyone else’s money tonight with a b.s “error” or just mine?” one user posted.
Anger turned sharper for those trying to feed their families. “DoorDash fix your damn wonky a** app. Im trying to feed my family,” wrote one angry user. Another added, “DoorDash what’s going on? I’m hungry and about to starve now 😭.”
By Sunday afternoon, the questions were about time as much as the error itself: “How long is this gonna go on DoorDash ???? I need my food lol,” one person said.
DoorDash has roughly 56 million monthly active users. with close to 60% based in the United States—meaning the impact of a shutdown like this can ripple well beyond a small slice of customers. For many, the outage didn’t arrive with warning signs. It arrived at the checkout screen, right as an order should have moved forward.
As the complaints mounted, the only thing consistent for users was what the app would not do: let them finish an order. And with no official update yet, the next question for those affected was simple—how long until the errors stop and their food is on the way.

DoorDash really just said nope at checkout.
It’s crazy how it always happens when you’re hungry. I bet it’s their “security update” or something cause the app made me retry and then it charged me later? Like how does that even work.
So is this like a payment fraud thing or what? The error says something went wrong but then people are saying it took money with a fake error, which feels illegal. I’m in Raleigh too and I thought it was my Wi-Fi at first…
DownDetector says checkout was the biggest issue, but DoorDash never says anything official and their Help X is just quiet. Typical. I tried my order on my tablet and it failed again, then it worked later, so maybe it was just traffic?? Also, why do they always make you refresh instead of showing what’s actually wrong.
