DoorDash App Outage Hits Checkout, Users Across U.S.

DoorDash app – Thousands of DoorDash users across the U.S. reported problems with the mobile app, including checkout failures and “something went wrong” error screens, with reports peaking around 6:30 PM EDT.
This morning, people who rely on DoorDash for quick meals ran into a wall the app couldn’t get past. In the U.S., more than 6,000 users reported disruptions in DoorDash’s mobile app, ranging from checkout failures to screens that simply told them, “something went wrong.”
The trouble wasn’t limited to one corner of the country. Reports surfaced from major cities including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. In Raleigh. North Carolina. a customer described the frustration of trying multiple times—on two different phones—only to keep getting an error message while attempting to place an order.
The pattern of complaints also showed up on Downdetector. Users began reporting errors earlier in the day, and the volume peaked around 6:30 PM EDT. Even then, not every user hit the same problem. Nearly half of the complaints—47%—were tied to checkout, while other reports pointed to app issues and problems placing orders.
For customers. the experience came in a few familiar forms: being unable to check out. being unable to place an order through the app. and repeatedly encountering “something went wrong” and “unexpected error try again” screens. For many, that meant the delivery they expected to finalize couldn’t be completed at all.
DoorDash has not shared an official cause for the outage, and no restoration timeline has been provided. The company also hasn’t acknowledged the disruption publicly. In the absence of confirmation. the most common explanations for outages of this kind typically center on internal server malfunctions and configuration errors.
As for what happens next, DoorDash has not said when services will fully return. The app’s technical team usually moves quickly once issues are identified. and past DoorDash outages suggest fixes are often implemented without extended delays. For now, users are left waiting—refreshing the app, retrying checkouts, and watching for any official communication from the company.
In the meantime, the numbers remain a snapshot of the moment: thousands of people stalled at the same point in their day, with orders unable to move forward and error screens replacing the checkout they expected.

DoorDash really said nope at checkout. Love that for dinner plans.
I kept getting “something went wrong” and it wouldn’t let me place the order, then it finally worked like an hour later. It’s always when you’re hungry too, smh.
Not to be dramatic but this is why I don’t trust apps for anything. If it’s “server malfunctions” then why is it only happening in the big cities? Seems like sabotage or something. Also I tried on my phone and my wife’s phone and it still didn’t go through, so yeah.
Downdetector always says stuff is down but they never give the real reason. I was trying to check out and it just looped errors, like unexpected error try again, over and over. DoorDash won’t even acknowledge it publicly either, which is annoying. I’m guessing they updated something and it broke checkout, but what do I know.
