Donald Trump’s strange side walk sparks fresh speculation over rear-end ‘contraption’

Donald Trump was caught on camera walking sideways into a White House meeting with crypto executives on Wednesday, August 19. This has reignited speculation that he was trying to hide a mysterious bulge on his backside, similar to what had gone viral days earlier.
The 80-year-old president kept himself forward-facing to the cameras the entire time he crossed the Roosevelt Room and viewers online quickly connected the movement to the earlier “contraption” rumors.
In the previous viral clip, Trump was spotted with a bulge or a box-shaped thing under his suit on his back. Many suggested he may have been attempting to hide the same bulge from cameras during the Wednesday meeting.
More details about Trump’s meeting
Trump met with crypto and technology executives in the Roosevelt Room of the White House on Wednesday and he appeared to have arrived late to the event and took a strange approach to the podium.
He reportedly joined the group after being late and appeared surprised when confronted by the awaiting leaders before saying “Hello everybody” and making his way to the podium walking sideways, appearing out of breath during the short walk.
The quote that started it all
Trump came into focus after Karoline Leavitt posted a clip of the President as she captioned the video, “In a beautiful impromptu moment, President Trump exits the stage in the middle of his speech to embrace Migdalia Martinez and retired NYPD Sergeant Jesus Freytes, whose 12-year-old son Jacob was tragically killed by a stray bullet in the Bronx.”
The word “contraption” became shorthand for the entire saga after independent progressive journalist Aaron Rupar shared the clip, writing that something looked seriously off about the president’s rear end and that it appeared he had some sort of contraption back there.
What people on social media are saying
Social media users also didn’t waste much time to chip in their own opinions. One person wrote that it could be a TENS device which is an electronic pain management device, pointing to his bulk and the effort it took for him to move his legs.
Another person joked that it could be diaper while a self acclaimed “conservative” user defended that it could be a big phone or tablet in his back pocket.
More suggestions ranged from a battery-powered exoskeleton walking device, to a wearable dialysis machine and a form of body armor meant to protect him.
Some commenters dismissed the entire theory, insisting it was simply a large rear and nothing more, with one adding that the shape could be the result of cosmetic surgery, floating the possibility of a Brazilian b*** lift.
Ongoing health scrutiny
The bulge and the sideways walk are the latest in a string of moments that have drawn attention to Trump’s physical condition since he returned to office.
The president has faced mounting concerns about his health since taking office again, with observers noting regular bruising on his hands and swollen ankles.
He has also been accused at times of dragging his right leg and has been seen tapping the same leg repeatedly while walking in recent months. Despite the repeated scrutiny, the White House has consistently dismissed the concerns and maintains that the president remains in excellent health.
