Donald Trump’s new hairstyle: ‘He’s wearing a man-wig’ and is full of ‘insecurity,’ critics say
President Donald Trump‘s hair appeared far thicker and more voluminous than usual during a recent speaking engagement in Las Vegas.
The observation led critics to comment on the 80-year-old politician’s appearance on social media, with many convinced the president was trying something new.
Trump’s hair catches observers off guard
One commenter shared a clip on X from the Aug. 5 event at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas that drew attention to Trump’s head.
The fuller look immediately fueled speculation that the president was wearing a hairpiece, with commenters questioning how his hair could appear so much thicker seemingly overnight.
“He’s wearing a man-wig. How very… gender affirming of him,” one person wrote.
Another commenter called Trump’s look “a man’s ‘weave.’”
Another person wrote, “No American president has ever projected insecurity like this before. The huge combover, the heavy makeup, the shoe lifts and now a wig? Seriously?
“He desperately tries to assuage his insecurity with all the Rambo AI images of him, but all that does is bring yet more attention to his insecurity & vanity. And that ironically makes him look so very weak.”
Trump’s carefully cultivated look
Trump’s no stranger to enhancing his appearance. For years, he’s worn bronzer and over the last year has used makeup to cover bruising on his hands.
His appearance has provided plenty of fodder for critics.
“They’re calling it the best taxpayer-funded coiffure there ever was,” one social media user quipped of his fuller-looking hair.
His fuller hair was also called a “ferret” by multiple commenters, with some wondering if a quality wig just wasn’t in the budget.
‘Fake Trump’ claims
Others joked that maybe the president wasn’t even himself, pointing to the unfounded online conspiracy theory claiming first lady Melania Trump has a body double who occasionally takes her place at public appearances.
“Maybe that’s why it looks like an SNL skit to me. That doesn’t look like 2026 Trump. It looks like an impersonator in a wig,” one person wrote.
Added another, “Old: fake Melania. New: fake Trump.”
Trump makes new claim about the economy
In a video from the Las Vegas event, Trump claimed that “more Americans are working right now than at any point in the history of our country.”
His declaration was met with a round of applause and cheers from the audience.
