Donald Trump says he’s ‘happy’ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in the U.K., calls them ‘terribly disrespectful’ to royals

Donald Trump is not a fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle but certainly approves of their return to the U.K.
Per a video revealed by TMZ, the president was asked about his thoughts on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s latest move and he did not hold back while speaking to reporters at the Oval Office on Wednesday, September 2.
Donald Trump said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle disrespected the royals
“I’m happy about it. No, I was not a fan,” Trump said. He pointed to his relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth II as he explained his stance on the Sussexes.
“I had a very good relationship with the Queen. Really good, I got to know her very well. A really good relationship with King Charles,” he said.
He then singled out Markle and criticized how she treated members of the Royal Family.
“I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the way she acted. I thought she was terribly disrespectful to the Queen, to King Charles,” the POTUS stated.
Trump also suggested that he would have handled the situation differently.
“I don’t know; maybe I’m different. I wouldn’t have taken them back. If I were the Royal Family, I would not have taken them back,” he added.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s revelations that divided the Royal Family
Harry and Markle made several explosive claims about life in the Royal Family since they stepped down as senior working royals and relocated to the United States.
Their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey delivered one of the most serious allegations. Markle said there were “concerns and conversations” within the Royal Family about how dark Archie’s skin might be before his birth. However, the couple did not reveal who exactly made the comment.
During the same interview, the actress spoke about her mental health struggles. Markle said she reached a point where she “just didn’t want to be alive anymore” and claimed she struggled to get institutional support.
Harry later made another huge claim in his memoir Spare. Per his account, he and Prince William had a confrontation in 2019 where his brother grabbed him by the collar, ripped his necklace and knocked him onto the floor.
In the couple’s Netflix documentary series, Harry also accused royal communications teams of trading negative stories about family members to protect their own reputations.
