Dolly Parton Memorial Appears on Her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star After News of Her Passing

Fans are mourning Dolly Parton.

A memorial dedicated to the late country icon, who sadly passed away at the age of 80 this week due to a brief battle with cancer, appeared on her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Tuesday evening (August 26) in Los Angeles.

The memorial featured a wreath of flowers and dozens of bouquets, candles, placards and signs, reading “Farewell to a Beloved American Icon” and “I Will Always Love You Dolly.” There were also some meaningful items, including a can of her beloved Coca-Cola, as well as a bottle of nail polish.

Dolly Parton received her first star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 14, 1984. She later received a second star on the Walk of Fame in June 2018 alongside Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt as part of Trio.

The “I Will Always Love You” icon passed away just four days after she provided an update on how she was doing.

“As I’ve shared in video messages throughout the past year, I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl,” she said to People, referring to her late husband Carl Dean, who died in 2025. Find out what else she said at the time.
