So they’re investigating and “haven’t found a crime”… that’s basically politics speak for nothing, right. Still, why is this even happening.
I saw somewhere that DOJ is just used to mess with opponents, but the wording here is weird. Also Newsom saying it’s because he might run for president… like isn’t that the same thing Trump does too? Not defending anyone just saying.
DailyMail really loves the “hit list” framing. I get that he said they’re trying to find a crime, but if it’s just a probe then it could be like tax stuff or whatever, not even related to “running for President.” And honestly the DOJ always “investigates” everybody anyway, so this could be nothing or it could be major, depends what they dig up. Newsom acting all shocked is kinda funny though.
