Trump Mobile Security Breach Exposes Data of 3,615 Users
A security failure at Trump Mobile has leaked the personal information of 3,615 individuals, including details from prospective users and high-level organizational staff.
The security of Trump Mobile has been compromised, leaving the private data of 3,615 people exposed to unauthorized actors. The breach encompasses a wide range of sensitive information, including full names, home addresses, personal email addresses, phone numbers, and specific order histories.
For many of those caught in the leak, the discovery was jarring. When contacted. multiple individuals confirmed the accuracy of the exposed information. noting that the data repository included even those who had stopped short of finalizing their account registration. One person explained they had merely provided an email address and phone number during the sign-up process but never successfully completed the account setup. yet their details were still caught in the spill. The breach also touched the upper echelons of the organization. with records reportedly linked to Eric Brunnett. the chief information technology officer at The Trump Organization.
The vulnerability originated deep within the infrastructure that powers the service. A hacking group identifying itself as BYOD claimed responsibility for the intrusion. A member of the group stated they gained entry by planting a remote access trojan on a staffer at Liberty Mobile. the carrier responsible for powering Trump Mobile’s network. Beyond the employee compromise, the group claims to hold persistent access to the backend of the Trump Mobile website.
This incident highlights a clear chain of failure: a single point of entry within a third-party partner was leveraged to bypass the security layers protecting thousands of customer profiles. The reach of the breach suggests that even partial interactions with the platform’s sign-up portal were enough to store data in a way that eventually fell into the hands of outside hackers.
Requests for comment sent to Trump Mobile regarding the scope of the breach and current containment efforts remain unanswered.
