Disgraced Josh Duggar transferred to new medical facility

Josh Duggar, the disgraced former TLC star serving a 12-year sentence for illicit material involving children, has been moved from a low-security prison outside Dallas to a federal medical center in Fort Worth for undisclosed treatment.
Josh Duggar’s prison routine hit a medical snag, and by the time he was moved, the change had already become its own kind of headline.
The disgraced TLC figure—serving a 12-year sentence for illicit content featuring children—was previously held at FCI Seagoville. a low-security prison outside Dallas. Texas. But he has since been transferred to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth. Texas. for undisclosed medical treatment. based on records viewed by Wonderwall.com.
The Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth is designed to handle inmates across different security levels and medical needs. The BOP describes it as “an administrative security federal medical center with a detention center.” The facility is equipped to support both mental and physical health care. and inmates are moved there when the care required exceeds what their assigned correctional facility can provide. including long-term treatments.
As of now, no word has been released on Duggar’s medical status. Wonderwall.com reached out to the facility and Duggar’s attorney for comment, but none was provided in the records reviewed.
Duggar, 38, once aired openly as part of TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” before his legal case overtook his public life. Federal prosecutors ultimately charged him with receiving and possessing CSAM (child abuse material). and special agent Gerald Faulkner described Duggar’s computer drives as “in the top five of the worst of the worst that I’ve ever had to examine.”.
After Duggar was arrested in April 2021, he pleaded not guilty to the charges. During a period when he was facing trial after being given bail. strict conditions were imposed because children—including his own—were living in his house. The judge ordered that he could only have contact with those children in the presence of his wife. He was also required to wear an ankle monitor and was not allowed access to the internet.
Ultimately, a jury found Duggar guilty. He was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison and 20 years of supervised release.
The case also carried earlier allegations that never fully disappeared from the record. Duggar was accused—though not charged—over misconduct spanning years prior to the federal case. In 2015, an uncovered police report claimed Duggar admitted he “acted inexcusably” in incidents from 2002 to 2003. During that period, Duggar molested his sisters.
Duggar’s parents admitted they learned of his behavior and disciplined him at home. When allegations from family members and family friends persisted. they said they sent him away from home for alleged counseling treatment. Authorities were reportedly alerted to the allegations in 2003, but no official action was taken.
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins later said, “Josh believes that the situation will make it difficult for him to be effective in his current work. We believe this is the best decision for Josh and his family at this time. We will be praying for everyone involved.”
Duggar’s new medical housing assignment adds another layer to his current situation. The Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth also houses Joe Exotic. the businessman who operated the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park and is best known for appearances on Netflix’s “Tiger King.” Exotic was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. violation of the Endangered Species Act and more.
In 2021, Exotic, 63, was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was transferred to a medical facility in North Carolina before being moved to the Texas facility. Three years later, he was quarantined due to an outbreak of scabies.
And outside of Duggar’s own legal timeline, his family’s troubles have remained tangled in court. Years after Josh Duggar’s trial, his brother Joseph Duggar was charged with similar allegations. Josh allegedly taunted Joseph in an email before Joseph’s arrest, claiming other family members could be next.
Joseph Duggar, also 38, pleaded not guilty to charges of lewd and lascivious behavior—specifically molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older.
For Josh Duggar, the transfer to Fort Worth medical care is the latest procedural turn in a case that has already produced a long federal sentence. Whether this move signals a minor medical check or something more serious, the details remain undisclosed—for now.
