Dept. Q Season 2 Starts Production in Edinburgh

Netflix’s Dept. Q is officially back in production in Edinburgh, Scotland, with Season 2 greenlit by a confirmed mix of returning faces and new cast members drawn from across film and TV.
When Dept. Q crews moved back to Edinburgh, Scotland on Thursday, the second season stopped being a promise and became a working reality.
Netflix’s procedural is now in production for Season 2 as of June 25, with the series continuing its adaptation of Jussi Adler-Olsen’s novels. The show’s department may still operate from the basement of an Edinburgh police station, but its next cases—and its detective lineup—are now taking shape.
Matthew Goode returns as DCI Carl Morck for Season 2. alongside Alexej Manvelov as Akram Salim. Leah Byrne as DC Rose Dickson. and Jamie Sives as DS James Hardy. Mark Bonnar is back as Stephen Burns, and Kate Dickie returns as Moira Jacobson. Aaron McVeigh reprises his role as Jasper, while Sanjeev Kohli returns as Martin Fleming.
Season 2 also brings a wave of new characters. Aisling Franciosi joins as Kimmie, Greg Wise comes in as Derek Powell, and Nicholas Rowe will play Thomas Fulton. Tony Curran is set as Winnie Calderwood, Hamish Clark as Christopher Herron, and Alex Ferns as Phil Allenbeck. Ross Anderson takes on the role of Ricky Daddario. with Rebecca Root as June Lovesay. Isla Johnston as Agnes. and Amy Brenneman as Helen.
