Dental Records Confirm Missing Boy’s Remains, Mother Charged

A four-year search for Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez ended with a grim discovery: his remains were found the day before in Everman, a small city near Fort Worth, and investigators moved quickly to confirm the identity.
On Friday. the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced that Noel’s corpse had been discovered in Everman and that dental records were used to confirm who he was.. During a press conference. Tarrant DA Phil Sorrells said the boy’s mother. Cindy Rodriguez Singh. has been indicted for capital murder and will stand trial.
The case has been marked by years of intense pursuit and a trail of competing accounts. Three years ago, Singh was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List after she flew to India with her husband and six children—but Noel was not part of the trip.
In August 2023, the FBI took Singh into custody in India and brought her back to Texas as police were desperately searching for Noel. Extended family told cops that the boy had vanished without a trace in October 2022.
Earlier steps by law enforcement also reflect the pressure building around the family.. In March 2023. officers visited the family’s Everman home after a welfare check request was made by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.. Authorities say Singh lied to them during the visit, telling officers Noel was staying with relatives in Mexico.. The DA has not disclosed any other evidence in the case.
Singh is currently being held at the Lon Evans Corrections Center in Fort Worth.
The sequence the court will now grapple with is stark: Singh was listed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list after traveling to India without Noel. then was taken into custody in August 2023 and returned to Texas while the search for the missing child continued. and officers later said she gave investigators a Mexico explanation during a March 2023 welfare check.
For families who spent years waiting for answers, the confirmation through dental records closes one door—and opens the next, with the capital murder trial now set to determine what happened to Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez.
