Deli Boys takes over streaming charts with Season 2

Hulu’s crime-comedy Deli Boys just returned for a second season, and its buzz is turning into chart momentum. The six-episode run scored a perfect 100% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, climbed Hulu’s global charts, and is also performing on Disney+—as viewe

By the time the six episodes of Deli Boys Season 2 landed, the show was already built for a kind of momentum that travels fast: sharp jokes, serious stakes, and a world that feels like it could tip from funny to dangerous in a single beat.

Now the second season is doing more than entertaining. It has pushed Hulu’s streaming charts globally, turning an underrated hit into one of the most-streamed shows, with the same success showing up again on Disney+.

Deli Boys follows two brothers. Mir (Asif Ali) and Raj (Sagar Shaikh). who inherit their family business after their father’s death. What they inherit is a deli that looks successful on the surface—but the brothers soon learn it’s really a well-oiled drug operation. Their lives pull deeper into the scheme under the guidance of their aunt. Lucky (Poorna Jagannathan). as the business becomes both their future and their trap.

Season 2 brings a new problem that makes the comedy sharper rather than softer: the brothers become “too good at their job. ” which creates a money problem and forces them to find a money launderer. The show also keeps returning to the same pressure point—law enforcement circling. and competitors ready to use any means at their disposal to corner the market. The trio’s attempt to solve those issues is where the season’s humor—and tension—meet.

Critics have responded with uncommon enthusiasm. Deli Boys is described as a comedy with a “Sopranos” comparison made through a comedic twist. and Season 2 landed with a perfect 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show’s overall Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score is listed as 98%. and across this second run. the six-episode season has been strong enough to move it up the streamer’s global charts. It is also available on Disney+, where it “replicated that same success.”.

The reception comes with the added pressure of a shorter season. Critics said they loved everything about Season 2, but felt it was too short. With four fewer episodes, critics describe it as a two-hour comedic experience that still leaves viewers wanting more.

Tania Hussain called it “remains one of the funniest and most distinctive shows to come out of streaming. ” in her review of Deli Boys Season 2. Angel Shaw noted the short episode count but praised the show for not caving under a shorter runway. calling the writing “great.” Nandini Balial echoed the same general verdict. calling the season “rich. joyous. and one of the funniest shows of the year.” Deli Boys was created by Abdulla Saeed.

Deli Boys Season 2 was released on March 6, 2025, on Hulu. The directors listed for the season are Oz Rodriguez. Maureen Bharoocha. Fawzia Mirza. Jeremy Konner. Andrew Ahn. Nisha Ganatra. Ahmed Ibrahim. and Jenni Konner. The writers listed are Abdullah Saeed, Michelle Nader, Mehar Sethi, Ekaterina Vladimirova, and Sudi Green.

For viewers, the appeal seems to be simple: the show is funny, but it doesn’t let the stakes disappear. And now, with Season 2 showing up in global chart movement and keeping that perfect critics’ mark, the deli world of Mir, Raj, and Lucky isn’t just a sleeper hit anymore—it’s a contender.

  1. I saw the headline and figured it was gonna be like, super violent crime or whatever. But apparently it’s getting “100% critics”?? That sounds fake to me, like no show deserves that. Also Hulu charts global makes it sound like it’s actually a business thing.

  2. Wait so the brothers inherit the deli and it’s a drug operation, but then Season 2 is “too good at their job” so they need a money launderer… isn’t that just doing crime better? I’m confused, but I kinda wanna watch anyway because it’s comparing it to The Sopranos?? I didn’t even know Sopranos had anything to do with deli stuff.

  3. Chart momentum on Hulu and Disney+? That’s what they always say when they push a show on everybody’s feed. Rotten Tomatoes 100% like c’mon, that’s basically marketing. I also read somewhere the cops are circling like every episode, which I mean… that’s just crime shows. If they’re already “one of the most-streamed” then why am I just hearing about it now? Maybe Hulu paid for it or something.
