Deion Sanders Tells Deiondra: Trust God, Wait

Deion Sanders went viral on X with scripture-heavy messages to his daughter Deiondra Sanders, urging patience and trusting God after she trended amid tweets that referenced her past with Jacquees. One day later, he posted another God-led reminder, just as he a

Deion Sanders didn’t just watch the conversation—he stepped into it, right on X.

On Friday, June 12, Deion hopped onto the platform with a message aimed at leaning into God’s plan. In a post marked #COACHPRIME. he wrote: “Lord we’ve learned that it can’t be our way. it’s got to be your way or no way at all. We’re learning patience & how to truly listen. We also know that it ain’t gonna be easy & we wouldn’t appreciate it if it was. We trust u Lord. #COACHPRIME” (posted via @DeionSanders).

The timing landed hard because Deiondra Sanders had already been trending after she shared vulnerable tweets referencing her past with Jacquees. The chatter followed advice Deion had already offered her the day before, when his words became its own viral moment.

On June 11, Deion Sanders posted three tweets on X—two directed at Deiondra. His first was a simple response to her writing: “I can’t wait till my son grow up and see the truth for himself.” Deion quoted her tweet with just “Lawd Lawd Lawd,” and that line spread quickly across social media.

Then he followed with a scripture-based message about pushing forward, blessing others, and staying positive. Hours later. he quoted another one of Deiondra’s tweets—this one where she wrote that she felt “hurt disappointed” and needed time. Those tweets came as part of a series in response to Jacquees’ recent comments about moving too quickly with her before closing his chapter with Dreezy.

In that second Deion-directed message, he told her, “Give it to GOD and let’s go! Got Got u! #NoMo” (also posted via @DeionSanders). The post carried the same spiritual thread Deion later doubled down on the next day, this time explicitly urging patience and “truly listen.”

The emotional throughline here is clear: Deiondra’s public vulnerability drew attention, and Deion answered with faith-first reminders—first with “Lawd Lawd Lawd,” then with patience, and then with a push to “Give it to GOD and let’s go.”

That public support also comes just after Deion Sanders shared an update about his own health. Days before stepping in to comfort his daughter, he spoke on ‘Good Morning America’ saying his health has improved. Last year, he was battling bladder cancer and faced challenges with coaching the Buffaloes.

Now, he said he’s doing much better, especially after bladder removal surgery. On the morning show, he described getting his energy back, saying he’s “got [his] health” and “swagger” back, adding, “I’m fully back now. Last year at this time, it wasn’t a good look,” as he looked back on that period.

Deion also said he’s now “cancer-free.” He credited “great doctors in Colorado” and God, saying the two together “brought [him] through.” He ended with a simple line of gratitude and relief: “I’m thankful ‘m healthy.”

With those updates running alongside his viral posts—first on June 11 and then again on June 12—Deion Sanders’ message to his daughter landed as more than online advice. It came wrapped in a familiar theme he’s shared for years: faith. patience. and the insistence that letting go isn’t passive—it’s trusting what comes next.
