Cruz Beckham takes fresh dig at Brooklyn Beckham – hours after his loved-up appearance with Nicola

Cruz Beckham appeared to take a new swipe at his older brother Brooklyn on Saturday – just hours after Brooklyn made a smitten red carpet outing with his wife Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn, 27, and Nicola, 31, packed on the PDA as they enjoyed a glamorous night out in Venice on Friday. The couple travelled to the Italian city so Nicole could receive the Rising Star Award at the Kinéo Awards — an independent ceremony that coincides with the Venice Film Festival – the following day.

But ahead of the main event, Brooklyn proudly escorted his wife to the Golden Globes X Aman Beverly Hills cocktail party, and they looked utterly smitten as they posed for photographers.

The following morning, Cruz took to Instagram with a pointed new post.

It showed the budding musician together with the rest of the Beckham clan – including Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, and Romeo’s partner, 24-year-old Kim Turnbull.

Cruz, 21, simply captioned the image with a red love heart.

It’s been a big summer for Cruz, who performed at both Reading and Leeds Festival with his band, The Breakers. His family were out in force to support him at his appearance in Berkshire – and the singer later took to Instagram to reflect on his milestone.

Sharing a series of photos from the weekend, he wrote: “I am so grateful for everyone around me, not only are they my best friends but they are family, this journey has been so incredible and I have learned so much because of these people.

“Last but definitely not least Jackie, you honestly have no idea how lucky we are to have you, not only do you take care of me but this whole operation, from creative to strategy to mgmt. We are a team and would not be doing this without you. I really love you so much.”

Nicola’s big night

Nicola was not only supported by Brooklyn as she accepted her Rising Star award on Saturday night – her proud billionaire father, businessman Nelson Peltz, mother Claudia, and brother Bradley were also there, cheering her on.

Wearing an elegant, full-length black dress, Nicola paid tribute to her loved ones as she took to the podium in the gardens of the Casa Cinema Giovani.

“Hi everyone. I am normally more comfortable playing a character as an actor than standing in front of an audience, so please bear with me,” she told the audience, via the Daily Mail. “Thank you so much for this immense honour. To receive an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career.”

She continued: “My family are my everything. My mum, dad, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn thank you. You always believe in me. To have your support is the reason I can reach to the stars in the first place.”

Nicola recently wrote, directed, and starred in self-funded movie Lola, whilst her resumé also includes roles in The Last Airbender, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Bates Motel, Holidate, Welcome to Chippendales and The Beauty.

She was named ‘Rising Star’ despite the fact that she started acting some 20 years ago, starring in Deck the Halls with Danny DeVito, in 2006, aged 11. But as the Kineo Awards noted, “in recent years, the American actress, screenwriter and producer has attracted growing international attention through increasingly multifaceted roles, both in front of and behind the camera”.

Nicola was honoured alongside icon Faye Dunaway, who co-stars in her new self-funded film Prima. The legendary actress received a lifetime achievement award.

Hours later, the couple once again hit the red carpet, as they posed together ahead of the It Will Happen Tonight screening at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.

Nicola, 31, ensured all eyes were on her in a dramatic cobalt blue Balenciaga couture gown, which featured a daring cut-out design across the bodice.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo and bow tie as he stayed close to his wife throughout their appearance.

The pair appeared completely smitten as they posed for photographers, with Brooklyn wrapping a protective arm around Nicola’s waist before leaning in to kiss her on the cheek.

The feud rumbles on

Brooklyn’s estrangement from his famous family came to a head in January when he shared a bombshell 800-word statement following months of speculation. Since then, he has been all but estranged from his famous family and has expressed his desire not to “reconcile” with them, after accusing them of trying to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola.

The latest instalment in the feud came last month when Brooklyn unveiled his fully covered “mamma’s boy” tattoo, which he originally had in honour of his famous mum.

Brooklyn’s new body art is reported to be a drawing of his wife’s bridal bouquet from their wedding in 2022.

Brooklyn, 26, previously had ‘DAD’ inscribed within an anchor design on his upper right arm, along with the message ‘Love you Bust’ beneath – in reference to David’s nickname for his firstborn. However, he appears to have had the inked tribute covered up so that it is virtually indiscernible.

The accusations

In his six-page Instagram statement in January, Brooklyn made clear that relations with his parents had broken down, saying he had been forced to respond after they had “continued to go to the press”.

He made claims including that his mother had “cancelled making Nicola’s [wedding] dress at the eleventh hour” and “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone” during the ceremony.

He also claimed his family values “public promotion and endorsements above all else”, adding that “family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp”.
