Costco opens Syracuse and Pensacola warehouses this week

Costco opens – Costco is opening two new warehouse stores this week—Syracuse, Utah on June 24 and Pensacola, Florida on June 25—pushing the retailer past 640 U.S. locations as it accelerates expansion across the country.
The parking lots were empty, the signs were up, and then—just like that—two new Costco warehouses are set to welcome members this week.
Costco will open new warehouse stores in Syracuse, Utah, on June 24 and in Pensacola, Florida, on June 25. Together, the openings continue the company’s rapid expansion push across the United States, pushing Costco past 640 U.S. stores.
The momentum isn’t slowing down. During a May earnings call, Costco said it plans to open about 26 warehouses during fiscal year 2026. The company also indicated it expects 30 or more new locations annually in the coming years.
This year’s pace follows a busy stretch for the retailer. In 2025, Costco opened new locations in The Villages, Florida; Richland, Washington; and North Guadalajara, Mexico. In 2026 so far, it has continued adding stores across the U.S., including in California, Florida and Texas.
The bigger question for many shoppers isn’t just when a new warehouse arrives—it’s what that means for their routines. A new Costco typically brings a familiar shopping pattern into a new neighborhood, changing where people plan trips and how far they’re willing to drive.
Costco’s website lists additional openings on its “Coming Soon” page. The listed locations are: Albany. New York — August 2026; Oconomowoc. Wisconsin — August 2026; Otsego. Minnesota — August 2026; Mansfield. Texas — August 2026; Celina. Texas — August 2026; Stone Mountain. Georgia — August 2026; Lee’s Summit. Missouri — August 2026.
The company has not provided commentary here on specific opening dates beyond what is shown on its “Coming Soon” page. Costco was reached for comment on the opening dates of these warehouses, but no response is included in the details provided.

So is Pensacola getting one or two? I saw something on TikTok like “next week” and now it’s June 25 lol.
Guessing the parking lots weren’t empty for long… Costco crowds are basically inevitable. If Syracuse gets one that’s gonna mess up everyone’s gas station routine.
Syracuse, Utah? Wait Syracuse is in New York right? They’re mixing up the states or the article is wrong. Also “passing 640” stores… does that mean 640 in Florida? Like why would it be more everywhere.
I don’t even live near there but I feel like every new Costco kills local businesses. Like it’s cool for bulk food but then traffic gets worse and suddenly the whole town is driving out there. They say “coming soon” for like 2026 and I’m like ok but when do they open the gas? that’s usually the real reason people go.
